Why
The question visitors have doubtlessly been asking. And I can't blame them: Whatever would prompt anyone to make a fan site for a character from a game series that a lot of people haven't even played (and whose fans don't seem to be into such sites)?Well, for one thing, even if character "shrines" aren't Estpolis fans' cup of tea, we need more of them anyway. Tons more, even. There could never be enough, considering we don't even have five yet that I know of. There's no better way to promote something than to make a website about it, and even if it's just about one character, it could end up piquing somebody's interest in this unique little string of games. Another reason for my doing this: Dekar rocks far too many socks to be shrineless (he did have another one at one point, but it seems to have closed). Everyone's got a soft spot for the resident dummy of Estpolis Biography II, even if they're as cynical towards him as Guy and Selan are. I assume it's this instinct everyone's born with. People know how to eat, breathe, and like Dekar. It all goes hand-in-hand. And he kicks a lot of ass for a tiny little sprite. And he has hair like Sonic the Hedgehog. Rawr! The third reason smacks of wishful thinking: Maybe this'll start a trend. If anyone reading this now has been toying with the idea of making a website for a character in the Estpolis series, you have my encouragement. I'm more than willing to affiliate with any others that pop up. And there are plenty of people who will host it for you if you don't have any webspace yourself. So go for it! |
